With all that engulfs the national news these days, we can sometimes forget all the people in need within the local community of Hampton Roads. Yet, in this community there are people doing great things to improve the 
lives of those around them. One awesome example is The We Promise Foundation, which is a local organization committed to helping children.
As We Promise executive director, Rachel Brown, says, "The We Promise Foundation provides support to help children with a single goal: To put smiles on the faces of children by making their dreams come true. We are the charitable arm of Chartway Federal Credit Union and strive to make dreams come true for children who are struggling with degenerative, life-threatening, debilitating or chronic illnesses, or those facing tremendous hardship. Since 1999, we have been able to raise more than $3.0M and help lighten the burden for more than 600 children. We host more than 20 events throughout the year to assist with raising funds. We couldn't do it without the support from our generous donors, and dedicated volunteers!"
