Today's exciting advances in technology
and manufacturing have allowed contact lens companies to produce
better generations of contact lenses. These newest types of contact
lenses have higher oxygen transfer through the lens, better
stability and rotation while on the eye, and greater moisturizing
capabilities. These attributes allow the contacts to maintain crisp
vision while still remaining comfortable during the long hours of
your day.
At Coastal Vision we strive to fit the best
contact lens for each patient. We base our decision on clinical
factors such as the shape of your cornea, ocular health, and your
prescription but also on your own lifestyle. Whether you are a
12-year old student interested in your first pair of contact lenses
for playing sports, a 35-year old accountant who wears contacts for
18 hours a day, or a 52-year old that wants to get rid of their
reading glasses, your visual requirements are different and your
eyes are exposed to different environments that can affect the
successful and comfortable fit of contact lenses.
During our contact lens evaluation we gather
additional information that is not part of the regular eye exam.
This evaluation is crucial to finding the most comfortable,
most proper fitting contact lens to ensure optimal vision
and eye health.
Our contact lens evaluations
include: |
We start by performing a corneal topography (map) of your
eyes. Since everyone's eyes are different we need to
assess the exact shape of the surface of your eyes to ensure proper fit and comfort of the
contacts.
We also perform a corneal endothelial scan of your eyes. This
allows the doctors to assess and monitor the physiologic
changes of your eyes to make sure they stay healthy during
contact lens wear.
Lifestyle consultation and prescription analysis to help
decide which contact lens is best for you.
A complimentary trial pair of contacts, contact lens
solution, and case.
Assessment of visual acuity, proper fit, and comfort with
your contacts.
Generous manufacturer's rebates rebates only available through the
doctor's office to help towards purchase of your contact
lens supply.
Free follow-up visits to make sure you have the best vision
and comfort possible with your contact lenses. |
